Is Russia in Asia?
Partly — most of Russia's land is in Asia (Siberia), but most of its people live in Europe.
Russia spans both Europe and Asia. The Ural Mountains traditionally divide the two: roughly 77% of Russia's territory lies in Asia (Siberia and the Far East), while about 77% of its population lives in the European part west of the Urals. Because its capital and demographic heart are in Europe, Russia is usually classed as a European country, though it is the largest nation in both Europe and Asia by area.
