Which countries in Asia are landlocked?

Twelve Asian countries are landlocked, most of them in Central Asia.

There are 12 landlocked countries in Asia — nations with no direct access to an ocean: Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bhutan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Mongolia, Nepal, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan.

Two of them, Uzbekistan and... well, Uzbekistan is one of only two 'doubly landlocked' countries on Earth (surrounded entirely by other landlocked countries). Most of Asia's landlocked states are in Central Asia.
